Thank You for Warming Up Winter

Thanks to the generosity of 1,285 guests of the three St. Croix Casinos, 14 northwest Wisconsin charities will be able to supply hats and mittens to children in need, From November 1 through 5, the casinos hosted their first-ever Warming up Winter Drive. Guests donating a hat and a set of mittens for children received $10 in Turtle Bucks slot play.

Phyllis Lowe, Tom Tahmahkera and Judy Warmanen of casino marketing delivered the donated items on Nov. 8 and 9, with the assistance of deliveryman James Jayme of casino maintenance. Charities receiving donations from the drive were the Rice Lake Moose, the Prairie Farm Lions, WestCAP, Margaret’s Project Santa in Cumberland, the Washburn County Food Pantry, the Hayward Community Food Pantry, the Stone Lake Emergency Fund, Webster Elementary School, Unity Elementary School, Polk County Operation Christmas and community Christmas drives in Chetek, Clayton, Clear Lake and Spooner,
